Favorite Moment

I am so excited to have a favorite moment that doesn't have my kids in it!!! I mean, I love them dearly and there were plenty of great moments with them in it this week, however, not this one.

Sadie worked a lot of overtime and late nights this week and I babysat a lot more than usual. The two, combined with potty training the girl I babysit, left me frazzled. Mommy needed some grown up time. So I emailed a friend and we made plans to go out shopping. Now, we are broke but thankfully the credit card company upped my credit limit just in time. I did not go all out by any means, I bought a $10 pair of jeans so now I have 2 pairs of full length pants instead of one. Oh yea, and winter boots for Aiden for $17....$17!!!!!!!!!!!!! I digress....

On the way over to my friend's I was thinking back to when we first became friends and I realized it had been 15 years! Wow... it made me feel old but good at the same time. Later when I mentioned this to K we talked about how we had lost touch for a while but she said (and I agreed) that it had made our friendship stronger.

So off we went to Burlington Coat Factory (home to the $10 jeans!). We had so much fun in the shoe department, seriously laughed until we.....well, almost peed our pants. We found the sluttiest shoes, the ugliest shoes and it became a competition to see who could find the most outrageous. I won.....a pair of strappy silver sandals with jewels dangling off the front in the shape of a fish....seriously! a fish. We hit a few more stores laughing our way through and then stopped for ice cream.

It was a great time. I got home a lot later than I expected and had to deal with the fall out from the spouse but it was worth it. I feel so much better today, which is good since Sadie is working.
